This show was at AS220 in either the summer or fall of 2010, opening for Andy Shernoff of The Dictators. Pop (RIP) wanted us to play acoustic, but we decided to just play quiet instead. I remember using a stripped down set (no toms) and putting a Providence Phoenix over my snare to muffle the sound. Pete was doing something, making this the only all-Bob (Bob, Bobby, Robb) show that we played.

There was an intimate but enthusiastic crowd. Andy read from his book and played acoustic songs in between, which was great. He performed until closing, when Ted Rao offered to take him to another bar so he could keep telling stories (I remember this moment vividly while everything else is a blur after 12 years).

There are some interesting moments that I had forgotten about. “I‘m the One” turned into a The Hangovers song and “Names” was a Drunk Robb and the Shots song. I‘m pretty sure Ed Mooney helped Robb sing that one. “Monday Morning” was years away from us playing it regularly.

This is a unique moment in McGunk history and something that we probably won’t attempt again.
